Quantity Surveyor
Responsibilities
- Accurately calculate quantities for structural, architectural, electrical, and plumbing work in accordance with construction plans and prepare construction progress reports for phased payment contracts.
- Prepare cost estimates for renovation and interior decoration projects.
- Review detailed designs and Bill of Quantities (BOQ) to ensure costs remain within the assigned budget.
- Coordinate with contractors and suppliers, sourcing, comparing quality, and negotiating prices for all construction materials and equipment.
- Draft procurement contracts with contractors, designers, and various partners.
- Recommend alternative materials, furniture, equipment, or design methods that can reduce costs or increase property value.
- Prepare and review adjustments for additional or reduced work quantities.
- Verify site documents against the project plan to prepare payment disbursements.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience in cost estimation and project budgeting.
- Skills:
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Basic proficiency in SketchUp and AutoCAD.
